Soft, silvery and resilient, our Alpine Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) is grown on our farm in the Snowy Mountains of NSW.
Each batch is hand-harvested, carefully dried and packed in small quantities. Its textured leaves and distinctive appearance make it one of the most recognisable herbs in our alpine garden.

How to Prepare as Herbal Tea
Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried mullein leaf to hot water and steep for 10 to 15 minutes.
Strain through a fine mesh strainer, then strain again through an unbleached paper coffee filter before drinking, as mullein leaf naturally contains tiny hairs.
Other Traditional Uses
Mullein has a long history of use in traditional herbal preparations, including infusions, bath blends, facial steams, infused oils and ceremonial herbal practices.
Facial Steam: Add a small amount of mullein leaf to a heatproof bowl and pour over hot water. Allow the water to cool slightly, keep your face a comfortable distance from the bowl and enjoy the warm botanical steam. Avoid direct contact with hot water.
Infused Oil: The dried leaf may be infused into a suitable carrier oil and carefully strained before use in balms or body oils.
Traditional Herbal Rituals: Dried mullein has also been included in ceremonial herbal practices where botanicals are gently burned. Always use a fire-safe vessel in a well-ventilated area, never leave burning herbs unattended and avoid direct smoke inhalation.
